Missionary Alexander Hotovitsky

Alexander Hotovitsky was an outstanding missionary. With unwavering dedication, he proclaimed the Gospel with deep faith. He lived as a faithful priest, serving God with devotion throughout his lifetime. He came from a devout Christian family. His father was also a priest. From childhood, Alexander walked in the path of the Lord and lived a life committed to spiritual values.

Alexander completed his seminary education and then served as a priest in New York. He was appointed by the Orthodox Church in America to minister there. His holy wife Mary also supported his ministry.
In 1896, Alexander arrived in New York and began serving among Orthodox Christians from various nations. His mission was to establish a holy Christian way of life among them. Through this ministry, he became a guiding light for many immigrants who came seeking a better life.

Everywhere he served, Alexander worked with exceptional dedication. He built churches, started charitable ministries, and strengthened parish communities. He gathered scattered believers, organized them, and brought unity. He ministered tirelessly to those who had drifted away from the faith.

Alexander faced many challenges, but he never wavered. He visited families, encouraged the poor, and helped the weak. He stood by those who were rejected. Many were comforted and strengthened through him.

In 1914, after 18 years of ministry in America, Alexander returned to Russia. There he worked for the Orthodox Church in various regions. He served as a parish priest, preached the Gospel, and strengthened believers.
During the revolution of 1917, he was arrested for his faith and imprisoned. Even in prison, he continued preaching and comforting others. He endured great hardship and suffering. He was later released but faced continued persecution. He never abandoned his faith or ministry.

His family endured immense suffering because of his Christian faith. Yet he remained unshaken in his commitment to Christ. He spent many years in exile. In 1924 he was arrested again. After release, he continued serving the Church.
Finally, in 1937, he was imprisoned once more.

Alexander continued to proclaim the Gospel faithfully until the end. On August 19, 1937, he was executed for his Christian faith.

1896ஆம் ஆண்டு அலெக்சாண்டர் நியூயோர்க்கு வந்து பல தேசங்களிலிருந்தும் வந்த ஆர்த்தடாக்ஸ் கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் மத்தியில் சேவையைத் தொடங்கினார். அவர்களில் ஒரு புனிதமான கிறிஸ்தவ வாழ்க்கையை உருவாக்குவதே அவரது பணி. இந்த ஊழியத்தின் மூலம், நல்ல வாழ்க்கையைத் தேடி வந்த பல குடியேற்றக்காரர்களுக்கு அவர் வழிகாட்டும் ஒளியாக இருந்தார்.

அலெக்சாண்டர் பல சவால்களைச் சந்தித்தார், ஆனால் ஒருபோதும் பின்னடையவில்லை. அவர் குடும்பங்களைச் சந்தித்தார், ஏழைகளைத் துணைநிலைத்தார், பலவீனர்களை ஊக்குவித்தார். சமூகத்தால் புறக்கணிக்கப்பட்டவர்களுக்குப் பக்கமாக நின்றார். அவரின் ஊழியத்தின் மூலம் பலரும் ஆறுதல் பெற்று பலம் பெற்றனர்.
